Half-life... what a game!!

Oh man. I honestly don't know how any FPS game can top this one. I mean come on. What is wrong with it, except for a couple occasional glitches?

What is better?

Backing a scientist up against the wall, facing him while facing the wall at the same time, and taking the shotgun and pointing it and using the doublebarrel shotgun right in his skull and seeing that blood fly against the wall?

OR

going to the Questionable Ethics lab, at the end of it when all the marines are dead, getting all 3 scientists plus the guard right in the middle of the first floor where the door is. Then leave them there, and go upstairs until you can see them, and launching a grenade with your machine gun right to the guards face, and seeing all 4 of their bodies blow up in smithereens?

None.

It's amazing how games can be a medium for people to shew their psycho tendencies.

As a matter of fact I don't. It's not just plain sick, it's wrong. Killing an unarmed person, EVEN IN A GAME, it's dishonourable.

The kind of fun you like to have tells much about the kind of person you are inside.

Get a room you two.

I never played the game only HL2. If HL is anything like HL2 storyboard wise then I suppose I would like. I am currently playing FEAR now which seems to be pretty good

Half-Life is a must-play. You really get immersed in the story and the game. It's like playing a thriller. Lots of scripted events and even some laughs.

You'll still be carded. The difference is that they'll let you buy the game.

I haven't played HL yet. I bought the silver package on Steam and I played HL2 with the amazing graphics, physics, story, and immersion. I can't get past that. When I try to play HL:Source I keep thinking, "man this look terrible". I'll get through it some day though regardless of the not so impressive graphics.

Since you all are talking about Half Life already, I've got a question. I looked at it today and thought about buying it since it was el cheapo but then I noticed one of the requirements was an internet connection. It said you had to say yes to their agreement and that some sort of "client" would be downloaded to your machine. What's up with that and what does this "client" do?

I'm guessing the "client" is Steam. It keeps the game completely up to date. I bought all the games Valve has ever made (the Silver package) through Steam and everything was downloaded (no discs). It's really neat.

If you buy the game in a store it is used to keep the games up to date.

Although mildly amusing and momentarily entertaining, I wouldn't say either is really 'better'....
