You mean OpenGL or Direct3D.
Direct3D usually looks better in my opinion, the colors have alot more depth. OpenGL should always be faster. Xayd |

Hey Xayd,
Are you saying this based on how it looks on your card or as a general statement? I've played games like say Half-Life with a TNT2 Ultra that look better in opengl than Direct3D. Could it depend on the card? |

In general from the games I've tried, but it would depend on which the game was natively written in I guess.
OpenGL, and Glide for that matter, seem to have a 'dark shallow' look to me in most games. D3D, if it works for the particular game, has always seemed to give a bit more 'depth' to the textures for some reason. But then again there are OpenGL only and D3D only games, so it could vary. Xayd |

Here is a list of games that I currently play:
Unreal Tournament Rogue Spear Vampire the masquerade, redemption starcraft red alert 2. Do anyone of the gurus know which is better for what game? I believe they do. Thanks guys, I am much obligated to you; your help has been tremendous in getting me through the newbie growth pains. |

Unreal Tournament will show you the differences as plain as day. OpenGL will be very very fast, D3D will look much much better
