smokin Which Star Wars game to choose?

Alright guys, heres a question for you

I have some money and would like to buy a role-playing star wars game where you can customize your own jedi and play as them (besides the Battlefront series).

I have downloaded the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Jedi Knight II:Jedi Outcast demos and like them alot, but they were both made about 3 years ago and would like something with a little more "umph" - graphics wise.

How are the Star Wars: Galaxies games? Do you recommend them over the JK games?

feel free to post your suggestions, any imput is appreciated.

Thanks all--

Ive liked jedi academy, that was a great and difficult game to beat. also it was a long game. (i give it a 8/10)
JKOTOR, (jedi knight of the old republic), even if its old, it was the best jedi Starwars game ive ever played, not only you have missions but you can do all sorts of things it was the best game (10/10). the only problem with this game is thats its really hard to beat some bosses (like you need to restart 15times).
JKOTOR2 came out 2years ago that was also a great game.
Battlefront2, play as a jedi or a unit, that owns

FOr the record the other latest games were crap

Yeah, I kinda figured that. Although StarWars: Empire at War looks great. It's an RTS due out in Febuary.

I think i may check out JKOTOR2.

I don't know what to expect from SW: Galaxies. Anyone ever played it?

Seems to me you are getting answers that are for CONSOLE games. Was that all you wanted? If not, and real RPG-ing, as opposed to "Diablo" style Console-type shallow stuff that gets called "RPG" when I don't think it really is, was what you had in mind, what's keeping you from running the real PC-based KOTOR?

Yeah the JK:Jedi academy was fun, beat that a couple times but its more of a action platformer than an rpg. If you like rpgs and star wars.....Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 is the way to go.

Galaxies is kinda blah, i played a free trial of it but then went to World of Warcraft.

Battlefront 2 is fun but its more of a shooter.

OK, so i've narrowed it down between JKOTOR and JKOTORII.

Is playing JKOTOR necessary in order to understand the story in the JKOTORII?

Is there a big difference - graphics wise?

Which one do you think is the best overall?

JKOTOR??? lol its KOTOR, knights of the old republic (sry real star wars fan lol) anyways ummm no u dont, but if u play kotor 2 and played kotor 1 then ull appreciate the hints throughout the game, but it really doesnt matter. more like a seperate story. but i would reccomdend kotor 1, for the story was superb. one of the best. graphic wise it really didnt change, here and there, i think a lil bit more force powers. but both those i would reccommend.

your right, its been awhile since i beaten the KOTOR. no its not quite the same story. but like spartan said, theres alot of tips in the first one. I use to be a starwars fan alot, i have all these older games such as DarkForces, fighter, rebel assault and rebel assault2. so im abit rusty in newer starwars games

I played Galaxies a while ago (hence the name Myrgo, as some of you may recognize my name). It was pretty fun. I started in late 2003, went for a couple years, now im moving on to doom 3, quake 4, halflife 2, etc
