I've been reading a couple of those posts. What's going on? IW isn't supporting their own game?

I had to laugh when I first saw this a few days ago. I just don't understand where this will do anything. They already have your money for the game, why would they care if you don't play for a day???? All this will do is deny you the fun of the game. Just like the original COD, eventually the anti cheat software and the patches will come along, it just takes time. You need only look at EA and BF2 to see this.

I don't see what the problem is with it. It's running great for me and I'm enjoying it. Anybody wish to share?

most of us are not going to put up with it anymore. most of you just go on the free servers and play for free. you dont get how many hours we have to put into our servers to keep them running plus the money for upkeep. cod2 is a great game but the games been out for over a month and im getting tired of playing the same 12 maps. this game should of had ac in it,its just a reworked cod1

Excuse me, but I don't go on free servers constantly. My clan has a RVS server and we are currently setting up a COD2 server as well. I know exactly how many hours go into server setup/maintenance and the expense as well. Believe me, I get pissed when idiots come on our server and start talking crap, when they are playing for free. My point is still valid. It isn't going to DO ANYTHING because they have your money already. Now, if you boycotted it BEFORE you bought because of a perceived lack of support and a DEFINATE lack of anti-cheat support, that is entirely different.

But I don't know what the beef is? Someone else asked, but I don't see an answer. I love ther COD single player games. I play other games on line.
Is that the problem? Online gaming?

a REASON I left COD1 was b/c of the cheating. It was so fun when it first came out but then it seemed like almost every map had someone cheating. Aww, I miss the good COD1 days.

Wolfie, I have been out of the online gaming world for awhile now (amazing how much a couple of months make), but does COD 2 not use Punkbuster? I thought the original did eventually did after some patching. I also thought that BF2 shipped with PB integrated into their multiplayer, though I could be mistaken. Have I been out of the loop for so long that Punkbuster is no longer used?

No, there currently is no anti cheat in the game (Punkbuster or others), and it shows. I have seen wallhacks, god mode and spawn hacks online already, and that is JUST the stuff I've actually seen. Getting good anti-hack support would definately help the game.

I admit it, I hate gaming where there are a million cheaters, takes the fun away, but at the same time I hate registering for punkbuster or other anticheat services, just intergrate it so I don't have to register - I just click on the server, and load up and play a game w/o cheaters.

Well why did they opt not to integrate punkbuster for the sequel when they added it through patches to the original? Must be politics (money).

Yup... I hate cheats, but it'd cost a bit to integrate
