I would lean towards a corrupted install before changing the video settings. That game ought to fly on that kind of rig.

It takes 20 seconds to turn ur video settings down though. I don't know why you wouldn't even atleast try it, just so u can cross it off your list.

I get some video stuttering in the game as well. I would think with an 7800gt, it should be smooth as butter. Perhaps the 1.02 patch will help.

i did'nt try reinstalling it yet, i dont have time for it right now, but ill report back as soon that i reinstall it.
nbcrusader: at least im not the only one who gets that, i guess its the game itself, also that game isnt a square map like the others, its a round map, (globe) that may also be the cause of this |

Perhaps the game wasn't properly optimized for the current driver set.

I just bought it and I like it a lot. I run everything maxed out except for shadows and shaders (they're on high) at 1280 x 1024 and it runs extremely well. It chugs slightly when things begin flying around (mainly when artillery and explosions occur simultaneously) but all in all I'm happy. I fixed the sound problem by reinstalling my nforce drivers and updating the game, so everything's good to go. It's very similar to AOE II but this one is prettier. Also, everything isn't available in the beginning. You have to play and unlock things - so that adds to its longetivity.
