Morrowind for Christmas
My Mom was looking for an extra stocking stuffer. I've decided to give "The Beast", Morrowind a try. I saw my friend playing it on Xbox and it looked interesting and pretty fun. I'm a huge 1st person action shooter fan but you gotta switch it up now and then. Are the graphics better on PC than Xbox or about the same? Looking at the PC screenshots, they looked better, and even for 3 years old, they looked impressive for a game containing such a massive world. After hearing so many good things, I'm looking forward to this Christmas gift.

Get the PC version. You can add modules, and mods, and even get a girlfriend in the game. Get the version that comes with the two expansion packs, it's quite cheap now and it's a great value. And yes, the graphics are way better. A TV monitor isn't equalling a computer monitor untill HDTV becomes mainstream.

Even today im still impressed about how much work went into that game. There are so many hidden things in the world. Just exploring is just as fun as making the quests and probably longer. Once I went in a temple hidden in the middle of the sea, there was nothing of value inside but it was just fun to go in and see.
The graphics are ok but the water is very well made.

I'm excited. I think she's getting the Game of the Year edition, the one with the 2 expansion packs. Only $20 right now.

You are in for a treat. I remember the first time I stole some ebony arrows from a shop and was chased out of town so I didnt have to pay a fine...good times.

OK let me just start by saying that if you decide to embark on that, which took me about a year to fully 100% beat @$$; then your computer better be good enough for you not to throw it through the window, when the loadscreens get longer the further into the night you delve, deprived of sleep.

I'm getting San Andreas too. I guess I'll have a full plate for the next couple years.

I played Morrowind for Xbox, I would imagine that the PC would have better graphics than the PC. Gameplay wise, the world is enormous! The weapons and camera views at the time, were beyond their time. A definate buy and I suggest you look into Morrowind:Oblivion, which doesnt come out for a while yet.

If he just started playing, he's gonna be busy enough with Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon till Oblivion comes out.

Morrowind looks amazing on computer. Especially with the Radeon at 6x Antialiasing and 16x Anisotropic Filtering on. I've been all over Oblivion coverage since it was first announced. I just hope my computer will run that game. I'd rather not get Xbox360 just for it.

I used to model and texture weapons for Morrowind (amateur). Here's some of my first creations:

Many tears will be shed in March if I have to play 800x600 with every setting at low. Although, judging by this video they got on IGN, I wouldn't be all that suprised. After watching that video 3 times in a row, I think it's time to upgrade to 2 gigs of ram.
Your stuff looks cool Shady. I haven't even fiddled with the editor yet. I don't know if it's similar to the Unreal Editor, but I'll check it out this weekend sometime. |

Just bought Morrowind for PC myself, but it'll have to wait until I've played all the other games first
