Problem with my computer?
ok so i have overclocked my system to the specifications below. using 3DMark03 my test results do not seem to reflect the power of my system. for instance, one comparison shows at 3200+ Venice core nearly beating my 3700+ San Diego core. how can this be? espiecally is his FSB is 29MHz lower than mine?
Comparison system: 3200+ Venice 0518 APDW 10x240HTT - 2xeVGA 6800U PCI-E SLI @425/1100 - 2x256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 @240mhz 2-2-2-6 7-14-2222 3120 16x 7x - NF4 6.53 remix chipset driver, 76.10 310 OFFICIAL General Information (both): Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP DirectX Version 9.0c (me)ASUSTeK Computer INC. A8N-SLI DELUXE (comparison) DFI Corp,LTD LP NF4 Series CPU: (me)AMD Athlon(tm) 64 2531MHz | (comparison)AMD Athlon(tm) 64 2400MHz FSB: (me) 230 MHz | (comparison) 201 MHz Memory: (me) 2048 MB | (comparison) 512 MB CPU Score: (me) 1164 | (comparison) 1127 as well, though the comparison uses dual 6800GTs as opposed to my single, the "Wings of Fury" test are only 10FPS apart while the rest are nearly double my performance. i can not figure why the first test has such similar results and the rest show his SLI setup. others with lesser systems seem to be able to match my capabilities and greatly surpass my system. this REALLY gets me angry that i spent money on what seemed to be a great system yet is destroyed by everyone else in benchmarks. Benchmarks are not make a system what it is, they are really useless and dont determine "real" world preformance. Dont worry about the benchmarks, because honestly most of them are not even noticable in a real world situation. The difference is cores on the processor might be why yours is getting beat.
Is your computer preforming well to your needs? lagging? As long as the computer is doing what you want it to, and at a speed your fine with...i seriously would remove all those benchmark prog's and start enjoying your system.

well i dont really lag or anything but i am curiosu to know why other people do so much better. as for core revisions, my CPU is less than 3 months old and is the San Diego core, which is the newest version.
EDIT: i was just looking at your picks and i have the same case, or similar, but in silver and red. i noticed you have both the right AND left side panels off (looking from the front, where the left panel is the standard access point). how did you get the left one off? i cannt figure it out. If the left is the standard access one you mean the right correct? Its a real pain, just remove the thumb screws and then slide it back....last i remember it takes some strength to get it off, as its a tight fit. Just place your hand in the middle of the panel, get grip with your left on the back of the case and try to push it back.
As for the benchmarks, LoC dont sweat it man...just enjoy your pc. |

Don't worry about the benchmarks. There are too many factors to take into account as to why the numbers aren't as high as other people.
Make sure you close all background apps.
