COD 2 Patch

Okay, so I downloaded the patch, for dual core or HT processors poerformance boost (not the PB one we're all waiting for). I checked that my CPU was supported looking at the 'one CPU per graph' in task manager/performance. I had two graphs showing so it seems my CPU is supported. I definately don#t have dual core but think it is HT.

Installed the patch and clicked optimal settings (as recommended in the patch blurb) and it set everything to the lowest possible! :

800x 600
no special fx etc
No AA

My comp specs:
p4 3.4
X800
1024 Ram

(it is a Dell however).

I haven't noticed any performance boost whatsoever. Has anybody else tried the patch yet. Surely with my comp my optimalk settings for COD 2 should be pretty high?

Could it be something to do with my Dell flat screen (think it only runs up to 75mhz)?

Anyway, perhaps I'm being greedy as COD 2 ran great anyway, just thought I'd try the patch to squeeze a little more out of it...

Any thoughts...

I would turn up the settings until you notice poor performance. Usually, having the game set optimal settings isn't an accurate depiction of what your system can handle.
