Howdy folks,
well i recently purchased a 1.0 ghz Tbird, a A7V 133 asus mobo, and a 64meg geforce 2 mx-400. all is fine in good, except that i have not gotten a game to work yet. I have upgraded the 4 in 1 VIA drivers, and i have dl'ed the 12.41 drivers from Nvidia. The game will boot, but the resolution seems that is is all screwed up. I also tried changing resolutions in the desktop with this new driver, and now it doesn't like 640x400. It only takes 800x600 and the 1024x768 resolutions (the max my pos monitor can handle). Has anyone had any experience with the MX-400? Has anyone else had any problems like this? Any info is appreciated. -Prosthetic Head |

It turns out that the drivers i was using were setting the monitor to a higher refresh rate than it can handle. all i had to do was to change this and it was ok. but now i have a new problem. when i change some of the settings in quake 3, i get a blue screen o' death. It says there is a problem with the VIAGART.vxd, even though i have installed the 4in1 drivers already.
any help appreciated. -Prosthetic Head |

Uninstall the 4 in 1's and reinstall the ones that came on the motherboard CD. If you were using the correct monitor definition, it would not try to set itself to a higher refresh than it can handle.
