Help Dungeon Seige 2

I got an email from my brother about his problem, and I have no idea, I would of thought it'd be the registry since he switched accounts and it worked. Here is what he wrote:

When i beat dungeon seige 2, i closed out the game when i tried to open it back up later on to start veteran it locked up on the load up where it has them dots on the bottom, was wounderin if you had the same problem and know how i can get it working again. i got it working by usin the run as Bassett/Games but my character dissapeared, that might be because i uninstalled it though not sure..

If anyone knows his problem and how to resolve it, please reply. Thanks
