There isn't a 'no cd' crack out for Quake 4 so the answer is no.
'No cd' cracks can be legit (they were once recommended for FarCry) but you use them at your own risk.

What about using WinIso to create an .iso file and then utilizing DAEMON tools to create a virtual drive? This is what I do for COD2, RVS, BF2 and FarCry and have had no problems. Also, before anyone says anything, these games are ALL my registered copies WITH CD keys, so it's not a problem (that I've been made aware of) from that perspective.

I'm lazy and hate finding the game cds on my massive cd rack, so I usually crack all my games. I just want to click the icon and play. For all my cd cracks, I go to:
http://www.gamecopyworld.com
They usually have what I want. But as Pam said, beware. They're not exactly checked on by the site. Do a virus scan before you use them.

id software has issued an update that removes the cd check. Just download it from their site.

That's suprising. The game is still pretty new isn't it?

The game is still fairly new, but according to the developers, they felt that with the cd key they did not need physical cd verification.

That makes sense. I guess that's why Unreal Tournament 2004 did it so early too.

I second what flawedreality said. I've used gamecopyworld for a number of years when trying to find no cd patches for my games. Some are legit, some aren't; some work, others don't, and some can be viruses (though not usually). Just use caution and do your own checks and you should be alright. It's nice that the developer supplied their own patch for the game though. You don't see that too often.

I too use nocd hacks as they call them, I find it silly that gamemakers cant apply the same file onto the games in order to preserve your CDs for many years.

Well for the most part games don't even utilize the cd / dvd once you've installed the game. It's merely an authenticity check nowadays.
