Well...I'd like to download it but I'm having a heck of time trying to find a server that wants to cooperate.

I just ran it and got a 3445. My CPU is whats holding me back, If I had an FX or even a 3800+, the score would be significantly higher

i ran 3DMark05 and got a very low score - 4763 - at least i think it's low. is this normal for my system because i always see people scoring much higher with weaker systems than mine. my specs are below and i really want to know if it's normal. thanks!

Don't worry about the numbers - they don't really mean anything. Make sure you kill any background apps that you may have running. I've seen that boost my score a hundred or two.

Gah! I wish I could just get the thing installed! I've downloaded it twice and both times it seems to have been corrupted.

I got it to run fine, got a final score of 4444 (exactly) marks with 7800GTX (256) and AMD 4400+.

Mostly the new version just touches up on the old demos, adding HDR, SM3 and the like. There are now two separate CPU tests which factor in to your final score, testing with AI and physics. Supposedly having a dual core helps here. Deep Freeze is the only brand new demo, which is almost completely based around lighting.

he's right, basically added HDR, SM3.0, new CPU tests

I finally finished the download last night after 8 hours through dsl.

I can't remember the exsact score, something around 3500.

Before I started the test, I had about 6 programs running in the background.. :\

I was also ripping a dvd to my HDD...

So, I will try again tonight, hopefully with a more accurate score. I am hoping to at least get in the 4000's. The graphics tests turned out beautiful, expected from the GTX, but I was getting .25 fps on those CPU tests...

Don't worry too much about the score... that 4000+ should run any game better than a 4400+. I think futuremark just put an emphasis on the cpu tests to promote dual core. And my fps during those tests weren't very high either, less than .5 fps.

WOW! That's crazy...mine only took about 2.3 hours also with DSL. What site did you download it from or which mirror? I don't know if the dual core made a difference or not but on the CPU test I also got only about .47 FPS. Anybody got any better on the CPU test or is there a way to make it run better?

It is official, my score is 3874, and I believe on my first attempt it was closer to 3400.

I agree that those CPU tests aren't really fair, more like trying to get people to go out and buy a super fast dual core for $$$$$$.

I downloaded from filefront, and the fact that I had to wait to download probably meant the server I connected to was near full.

Well, on several forums they have been saying that it seems to favor the NVIDIA cards. Based on the scores in this thread, that would seem to be true. It also helps to have the 7800 and X1800 cards, as the SM 2.0 and 3.0 tests perform better on these latest generation cards. With nothing overclocked, I got 2222 with my sig rig. Seems that vid card update may NOT wait until later this spring after all. Then again, this rig plays every game I've tried with all settings maxed without a hiccupp, so it's hard to justify.

BTW, I went to File Shack, no wait, and downloaded it in 28 minutes with a cable modem with 3Mb down, 250Kb up speed.

i have found what's wrong : there is a bug in 3Dmark 06 .. on some system the program hang on start up. To solve it , if it happen , you have to disable any IDE device .... many users have reported this on futuremark discussion board. i managed to make it run .

scored 2260 3dmark 06
