Computer peformance problem
hi i am running an athlon 64 3700 processor with 2 gigs of ddr400 RAM ona MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Mobo. the problem is that when i try to play some strategy games like battle for middle earth there is tremendous lag...i am thinking that the problem could be my graphics card as it is a GeForce 5500 FX OC 256mb PCI card... any idea on how to improve my performance?

Is this the only game you see with lag??, is this a legit copy??
there should'nt be any lag with a machine like that BTW battle for middle earth is a great game

The card is only PCI... that could be the problem.

yes the copy is legit i purchase it at circuit city. and it lags when there are a lot of charaters on the screen. and whenever i summon the balrog it slows down terribly.

I would bet its the video card. In games most all lag is due to the video card.

age of empires 3 lags slightly. oh and the other thing i notice with battle for middle earth is that during the cinematics there is a terrible tinty sound overlayed in the audio,

It's the video card, as evidenced by your problems when there is a lot of characters on the screen. The vid card can't process all the information fast enough. With your system the vid card is creating a horrible bottleneck for what is otherwise a very fast system. Good gameplay requires good video cards with modern games, it's that simple.

"age of empires 3 lags slightly." ya it did the same with my rig, i think its just the game itself.
its probebly the video card, cause i have the game and never had problems with it. also try updating the patchs for the game |
