bloodrayne2 install failure
Howdy,
I'm having trouble installing Bloodrayne 2 on my rig. Leaving aside the issue of why I would want to install this game, I'd love it if someone could provide a solution. Here's the scoop... 2 copies of BR2 have malfunctioned exactly the same on 2 different computers: one, a brand new Dell I9300 laptop that so far exceeds the requirements, it's ridiculous and two, a so-so Compaq desktop that's only slightly tougher than needed. 1st, the install disk doesn't auto-run. All other games I've installed do. 2nd, after being prompted for the 2nd disk, disk 2 does autorun, bringing up a window displaying its contents. When that window is either closed or ignored and the 'OK' button in the prompt window is clicked I get an immediate 'catastrophic transfer failure' pop up. Upon clicking 'OK' in the failure window, the install closes out to the desktop. Thats it. It's happened with no variation at all over 6-7 attempts to install on 2 different computers and 2 different, original (i exchanged the 1st) copies of the game. Thanks for any help. |

Looks like they had a bad batch of disc #2 being distributed. They say you can return it though and they'll send you a working set of discs back.....guess you send all of the discs and the box they came in, but I'm not sure if you have to send the receipt too or not. I'm guessing you probably do though. Check this thread out HERE. The address to send it to is HERE under the heading "Returns Within the 90-Day Warranty Period". Hope this helps.

Instead of using Auto-Run, you can just open the installer file.
Start --> My Computer --> Right click the drive that the cd is in --> Open --> Look for an installer file --> Open it. As for Disc 2, I have no idea. |

if i were you , ill try to create two folders on the hard drive such as Disk_1 and Disk_2. Copy manually all the contents of the disks in each folders. Then try to install the game from the Hard drive. When it ask for disk#2 point it to the right folder. when done , if it work , put back the right cd to play. you will be set if its a physical problem with the disks or a installer problem.
