PCMark05 / Media Encoder 9

I was just trying to install PCMark05 and it tells me that I need to download and install Media Encoder 9 from Microsoft. I found the download link but I wondering if I should go ahead and do it??? Do I really need this??

It's part of one of the tests, media encoding. Seems like when I ran PCMark I got a similar error, but if I recall you can just ignore it and it won't run that particular test, but the rest should run. I'd go ahead and try running PCMark without it and see how it goes.

Thanks I'll do that. Do you think that installing it would possibly cause problems?

Well it'd get rid of that error in PCMark...but I don't think it'd cause any problems elsewhere, you can always uninstall it.
