Final Fantasy XI Sound Problems
Let me preface this by saying that aside from running Final Fantasy XI, the computer I built that it's running on is working just peachy-keen. (Can't believe I just said peachy-keen...) Anyway, when I used to play FFXI back in the day when it was brand new here in the US I would play in on my laptop and aside from having a really outdated video card in there by today's standards it would run pretty well. Well I just got back into the game after about a year and a half hiatus, and have installed it on my new build(specs for which are in my siggy).
I noticed that when using the PlayOnline Viewer(the portal program required to log into FFXI) that the music and sfx in the Viewer are fine, but that when playing FFXI all I can get is the music. I've tried everything I know, including checking to make sure that my speakers are turned up, checking to see that the sfx volume bar is turned all the way up in game, using PlayOnline Viewer's file checker to see if it finds anything anomolous. Nothing. I've sent an email to SquareEnix's Q+A department through PlayOnline Viewer but all I got was an email saying that they would get back to me basically whenever the heck they got their thumbs out of their butts. Has anyone else had a similar problem with FFXI and if so what should I do to fix it. Thanks. |

Did you check the setting in your gameplay volume status?

Did you try to zoom in your character in close view? Sometime my sound get cut off because I zoom out my character into a third person view.
-Check your ffxi config outside the gameplay, make sure sound is enable. |
