Hi guy's, I have a Kensington VideoCam VGA & am having trouble with the quality of the picture, the resolution is ok it's the speed that it captures things at thats the problem. If you just sit there & move very slowly things are fine, but if you move your arms about at normal speed the image on the screen is blurred.
I read that the videocam doesn't control the frame rate of the image & that it's your computer that does. Well this is what I have P111 866Mhz Intel 256MB SDRAM nVIDA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro with 32MB SDRAM Do I need a better system than this or can I change some setting to increase the frame rate to overcome the blurry image. Thanks for any replies, Tony. |

You should be able to access the device's options by going to Control Panel and clicking on Multimedia. Find your video capture device and right click it, then click properties. This should open up a window with options for better quality or for faster refresh. You'll likely have to give up some picture quality or size for faster performance, but at least it won't drag along at 30 frames per minute. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply & help, I tried your sugestion, but when I open the Video capture devices in Multimedia devices the only device it says I have is
Microsoft WDM Image Capture. I am using a Kensington Videocam VGA, so I thought I would find it there as well. When I right click on the Microsoft WDM Image Capture & goto properties I get this: General Microsoft WDM Image Capture Status: Driver is enabled . use this capture device (selected) do not use this video capture device do not map through this device Remove so what now, any ideas once again thanks Tony |
