Direct2Drive - Is it good?

Ign have a link for direct2drive, where you can pay for a game, and it will dload to your hd, but I have a couple of questions, is it eliable, and good, and 2. i live in the uk, will i still be able to buy games off it, incase the games are region locked so they can only be purchased in certain regions?

I downloaded Far Cry off of Direct 2 Drive with zero problems. The only problem you may run into is download time given your location. Their FAQ is pretty extensive so you may want to check there about region locking but I didn't notice anything. Once you buy a game you will have to install a download manager. Once the game is downloaded use winzip to unzip the files and copy onto your hard drive. I was apprehensive at first but I was really impressed. I have downloaded oblivion from them as well. In fact I liked it so much that I invested a few dollars in the enterprise. I really think this will take off.

I still prefer having a hard copy of my games, but this is convenient for those that don't want to drive out to a store to get it. Also convenient if you are too cheap for a DVD drive.

One rather glaring problem with D2D is that the games need special versions of any patches that come out, and the software developers don't always make those extra patches.
