Laging Problem

I have a pretty good system, if you look in my signature. But i cant run games like day of defeat and CSS or the new HDR maps without it laging like crazy? I have to put the setting down to medium or low? Is that my CPU doing this? Should i upgrade to a 3200?

I would say your limited by your CPU more than anything. If you are playing newer games, like Battlefield 2, then the amount of RAM is holding you back also.

I'd say you could either upgrade now, or wait a few months for the new AM2 socket. If you do it now, you'd still have a sufficient system but might find yourself in the same place a year from now.

When I started with BF2 I had 1 gig RAM installed. This is an absolute minimum requirement. You can play with it but verifing times, loading times and such are painfully long. Some maps are extremelly laggy especially with Special Forces expansion pack. Now I have 1,5 gig and it's working much better. Friens of mine have installed 3 gigs and by comparing our loading times and such I would say that if u want a smooth gameplay in every sense I guess you need 2 gig or more.
