need 4 speed install failure

Hi i just got need 4 speed[most wanted] and i run cd and click on install
type in the code then i get the T&C but it's not showing any writing just a blank box and i click yes
i then get a box saying that it cannot contiune with install as my system need to have direct x 9c installed ,end of!!
contacted ea and they said try install in safe mode but still get same problem anyone else had this heeeeelpp please

Have you installed the latest windows update patch that came out this week?
It's the one that repairs what the previous patch broke, and one of the things it broke were the latest set of graphics drivers from nVidia.
It possible that you may need to reinstall DX9c as well.
