Help playing/unstalling Oblivion...
Okay... I got Oblivion today- was really excited to play it as it might take my mind away from WoW for a bit... I get home to install it, and it installs fine (I think anyway). Then, I go to play it, and when I click to play it from the main menu I get an error message that says:
"This application has failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Okay, fine by me- I go to un-install it from the main menue and get yet another problem. This time I get a another message that says: ">Setup DLL\SetupDLL.cpp (390) PAPP:Oblivion PVENDOR: Bethesda Softworks (http://www.bethsoft.com) PGUID: 35CB7615-41F8-4F99-8881-6FC75BF054B0 $11.0.0.28844 @Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180" Ummm.... okay.. I'm lost, I can't even un-install the game.... I click "okay" and get another errior mesage saying: "Setup has experienced an error. Please do the following: - Close any running programs - Empty your temporary folder - Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setups) Then try to run the Setup again. Errior code: -5001" Even more lost... no programs running (aside from it) and my internet connection does work... Any ideas? Sorry if there are any typos or the setup is messy- I typed it up kind of quick... Thankyou for any help! Jason My specs are in my sig if it matters and if anyone else has experienced this... what did you do? EDIT: I tried un-installing it from the controll panel and iI get the same exact errors.

really need help plz any one
i just got a lap top and i dont no any thing about it so i buy the oblivion game install fine i click the game and a error appears oblivion has stopped working windows is searching for the problem i after a couple of seconds it stops and says oblivion has stoped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available so i close the program and it goes but nothing else happens so i uninstall it and install it again it says the say thing i read the requirments as far as i can see i have every thing i need but i dont no about the sound card or video card im really stuck does any 1 no wat i should do and if u read this and u dont no can u reply any way so i no opeople r reading this plz plz plz

abnorml, the playing issue is caused by an outdated DirectX installation, download the latest DX from www.microsoft.com/directx
