NVIDIA 12.41 Drivers Question.

Is anyone using the NVIDIA 12.41 drivers on their Geoforce 2 MX.

If so could you look at my post in the Windows 9X forum and tell me if this has happened to you.

Thanks.

Thanks.

But could you tell me what this fix is for and how you think it pertains to my monitor problem.

What I'm trying to find out is whether anyone using these NVIDIA drivers is getting two monitors listed in Display Properties.

Well, I'm using these drivers (12.41) on my GeForce 2 GTS, but it never detected a second monitor.
Anyway TwinView is only available for the MX series, so this could be. I'm not sure about it, but you can try to download the info file about the 12.41 (in pdf format) from www.nvidia.com.

I can't find your original post, but when I updated to the 12.41 drivers, it detected two monitors. I went into my computer properties/device manager and checked monitors. Somehow, when ME rebooted up after the install it detected my monitor as default monitor and added it on as such. What I had to do is remove the default monitor from device manager and it got rid of the dual monitor display in display properties. Make sure you leave the actual monitor in device manager. See if that doesn't help your problem.

Hmm. It's just the point at the end (to complete the sentence) that doesn't belong to the web address.

www.nvidia.com

I've tried several different ways and I still end up with two monitors being detected.

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?threadid=15721[URL]

It's irritating but doesn't cause any problems...yet.

I think the two monitor thing is normal, I have a GeForce MX DD, which has two monitors detected. I think the second monitor usually represents the TV/Out function, as when I used to use the TV/Out function, it seemed to use the second monitor driver for the TV.

If it's not causing any problems, I think it will be okay. As long as Windows is using the correct monitor driver for your current Monitor, I don't see it as being a problem.

I think it's because of the GeForce 2 MX' dual display capability.
I have a GeForce 2 GTS with three outputs (VGA, DVI and TV) and it's not detecting 3 monitors, just one (first analog monitor on VGA, now digital flat panel on DVI), and it never installed drivers for the TV.

Thanks guys,

I'll put it down to the dual display function. Everything is running fine
so I'll leave it alone.
