DOOM/DOOMII questions for XP

ok, so doom95 (doomI/II) works pretty good on my comp, but i want to use my old sidewinder joystick for it. my soundblaster audigy 2ZS has the port for it, but i cant get it to work in the game.

also, i have 3 open periods/day in school now, and we like to play on the computers over the network--is there any way to play network games like this over the internet?

umm i dont actually remember if those game ports are still actually active as new games don't work but on USB.

and it should work on network. my friends and i used to play quake 3 arena at our school. fun game it was a demo and one of us started a game on LAN and since we all on the switch we could see and join up.

Modem or LAN is supported out of box. But internet play keeps pointing me to an app called iFrag. Their website didnt look like much so it looks like you may be stuck with LAN playing unless you can figure out the following: linky

I use the Doomsday Engine to play old-school Doom/Doom II on Windows XP and also Heretic/Hexen games. Go to the Doomsday HQ to find more info. I haven't tried but I bet it supports LAN gaming. Also gamepad support is a little rough but if your gamepad has keyboard emulation, you can make it work. I have done this with my Nyko Airflow gamepad.
