Will Counter strike:Source play on my comp?

Hey all,

Will Counter strike:Source play on my computer without lag or is this a definate no no with my graphics?

Heres what i think the minimum specs are for the game? They seem a little low requirements for what ive seen of the game -

Min System Requirements:
Intel Penitum® 233 or AMD K6-2
32 MB RAM
400 MB HD Space
2x CD ROM Drive
SVGA, high-color (16-bit)
Win-compatible Soundcard
32-bit Internet service provider with 28.8+ modem or LAN

My comp exeeds all those requirements as you can see my specs in siggy.

Here are the HL2 requirements. I didn't check the official site, but I assume that's where this data is from.

I assume that CS requires the same resources as HL2 would require, and the site claims it as well.

To be honest, you might have to turn down most/all the visual effects for the game to be playable. The best thing to do is download the HL2 demo and give that whirl to see how CS source might feel/look.

Hey thanks for replying.

I have already downloaded HL2 demo before and the game did run and the graphics were actualy quite good considering i only have intergrated 64mb.

But HL2 crashed during gameplay but i think this may have had something to do with not enough memory.

Isnt there a Counter Strike : Soure demo?

If HL2 runs, then Source should run no problem. You may have to turn the graphics down a bit more, or a bit less... I wouldn't know as I don't play CS:S. The bottom line, though, is that it should run fine.

I don't think there's a CS:S demo. HL2 and CS:S are based on the same graphics engine - so if HL2 works fine, so should CS:S.

there isnt a cs source demo but its all the same engine so if hl2 ran, than source will run as well.

If you are planning on playing counter strike with bots then it wont run that well. However if you are planning on playing it on the net then you should be fine. Playing with bots usually requires a very good CPU to make it run without lag.

Whenever I'm not sure if my computer will support a games requirements, I go to this website: http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest. It'll actually check your computer and tell you if your computer meets the minimum requirements. It also tells you if, and where your computer fails to meet minimum requirements. Check it out. Here it is again: http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest
