Unhappy counter-strike freezes in some minutes!!!:(

OS:Windows 2000 SP4
Intel(R) Pentum(R) 4 CPU 1.8GHz
256MB + 512MB RAM

Video:NVIDIA GeFOrce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

Sound:VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller (WDM) (Driver Version 5.12.1.3820)

I got new hard (Samsung SP0822N) and reinstalled the system.

So I'm starting Counter-Strike or other HL mode (Steam or no-Steam - no difference) and when I'm connecting the game server after some minutes of playing Counter-Strike freezes.

I discoverd that PC is responding - but very slow. When I'm pressing Ctr+Alt+Del - PC need some minutes to show me MENY,I'am presing Task Manager (all actions takes time in minute(s)) and then I see that Half-Life is changing status from "not reponding" to "runing". Then a switch to HL and in game console and I can see that conection to server is "Timed out". I can connect to server again, but after some minutes same situation.

WHAT TO DO?

I did:

RAM can't be the problem - they worked perfectly before reinstalling the system. After reintstalling the system I even tried both separately - same result - didn't help.

I tried older video drivers (from 84.21 to 78.01) - doesn't help.

Did you reinstall ALL drivers, including your chipset drivers for your mobo after installing the OS on the new hard drive?

Try creating your own server and see how it runs, rather than connecting to a server on the net.
