Quake MaxPlayers
Hi,
I have got Quake 1.09 I can't find the CD and can't find techinfo.txt which should be in the Quake root folder Could somebody please attach their TECHINFO.txt to the thread or tell me how to get more than 4 players to join a LAN server I am trying to set one up every lunchtime at work . There are five of us though and somebody has to be left out every dayThanks,

I think you want to put -listen at the end of the shortcut so winquake.exe -listen should work. If you want more then 8 players winquake.exe -listen 16 will work but 16 players is the limit before you have to make your server dedicated.

btw, I believe that winquake.exe is mainly the WAREZ version of Quake
Quake.exe would be the executable if the version was legit. Still friends?? ![]() Thanks, Jim |

Hey Gantic!
I know you're new to this but it's quite obvious you just corrected your typo because you wanted another post! Just click on edit in future, stops me from getting an email everytime you make a mistake ![]() ![]() ![]()

Now you're really starting to annoy me, could a moderator please CLOSE this thread so this Newbie Lamer 'friend' of mine doesn't scab any more posts from it
And no I'm not just saying this to get another post either you fool, some people actually find this forum useful and come here to get help, not to add posts to their names. Thanks very much, |

We're not here to babysit you guys, but if you insist..
Play Nice, Dammit! Now you should each say 10 hail PcMechs and not frag anything for 4 hours while you think about your wrongdoings. ![]() Xayd (honestly, don't flame at each other, I don't wanna be some little power hungry geek running around locking threads all day, it gets very boring. Can't we all just get along?) Last edited by Xayd; 08-02-2001 at 04:37 PM. |

Arguments are meant to be settled on the field, play 1v1 for it, hehe.
Keep it up and I'll make you two Quake'ers come play UT on my server. There'll almost assuredly be a Bling! and a [vs]Xayd is Godlike! and everything. ![]() Xayd |

Just noticed both of you guys are in the UK, our server being in the Southwest US it'd prolly ping badly for ya, BUT, I ain't backin' out or nothin
. There's a public that you guys can usually find me on (after 1 am eastern US time, if you're both that bored and awake that late, I work 5pm to 1am).It's got a few custom maps, so before ya jump in you might want to download DM-SunTzu, DM-Alienation, DM-GrimFist, DM-Seraphim (GREAT shock rifle map) and DM-Anubis from somewhere else if you don't have broadband. Just run google searches for the map names, they'll turn up. If you do have broadband, the server's downloads are redirected to a nicely over-bandwidth'd web server, so it won't matter. It's on the east coast, in Pittsburgh, PA, so should ping as well as can be pinged from Europe. unreal://216.151.124.201:7777 SunTzu even has a hidden room with a Chocobo and Final Fantasy music and everything, which always becomes the most fought over campin' ground. Wark Wark! Anyone else is welcome to stop by too. Xayd |

Great thanks, I know I'll try and have a go on it asap!
We're both on 56K dialup connections so we may be a little slow, well that'll be my first excuse See you on there at some time possibly, |
