Question where does a guy go to benchmark?

Where can I find free benchmark tests for vid cards?

Angry Fire

I ran my 3D prophet through the benchmarking test and it did pitiful! I think the problem is that it doesn't support directX8 very well, and that benchmarking programs is based on directX8. When I play games, though, I hardly ever experience hitching or choppy movement. I normally try to play games with open gl. Are there any open gl benchmarking programs?

If you've got Quake III you can use it to see how many fps (frames per second you're getting).

Just did a search on google on "free opengl benchmark" and it came up with a lot of sites. HTH

Hi Werewolfdaddy,

If you have Quake 3, then try Q3Bench. Also, a good guide for running benchmarks on nVidia cards is here. Hope that helps.
