I thought it was ok especially for the price. I really enjoyed the single player version of Return to CW and found ET one day and downloaded it. I had it running on a pc at home as the server and my son and his friends played a lan game. For me the small maps got old quickly.

Just curious, are there two versions of it? Single player and online? I think I'd like to try the singler player version...

The single player is Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I guess. Enemy Territory is the freebie. It's not bad, like sarge said, for the price. I vent some of my frustration out on it sometimes...

I played it quite a bit when it came out. It is a great free game. However, I got real tired of the XP save option which led to panzerfaust and arty spamming. The "Sticky Nade" rifle used by engineeers also led me away from the game.
I still play RTCW online a couple of times a week. I have recently been getting into Red Orchestra Ostfront 41-45: http://storefront.steampowered.com/v...ame&AppId=1200 24.95 from Steam

I guess I was a little ambiguous in my post. RTCW had both single and multi versions in it. The Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was just a multi player version that was originally planned as an expansion to RTCW but for some reason was just released for free.

I just saw something in the nVidia insert that came with my Maximum PC mag. It's a review on ET:Quake Wars. Is that another freebie, or will that be a stand-alone game for purchase?

People still play this?- I played both online RTCW and the freebie extensively- but that was several years ago. Both were great games.

Oh yeah, a lot of people still play it. I think the fun game play, multiple class variety, solid Quake III graphics and zero-cost of ownership will guarantee Enemy Territory's continued life-span for several more years.
I had a lot of fun with this game back in the day. I might even get around to installing it again, if I'm able to find the time. |

Cool, thanks for reminding me about ET. Haven't played since I got my new comp about a year ago - gonna have a blast tonight. Hope the servers are still busy and people are still playing that beach landing map, forget the name...
As for Quake Wars: ET, unfortunately you're gonna have to pay for it. It's being developed as a full-price commercial game (I believe). |

Help needed
I downloaded this free game. I installed it. It boots up slightly and gives a opengl error. Done.
I know I'm missing something, but what... I'm not sure. So I find this and ask for advice, sites, and giggles. Prefer advice. TX |

Downloaded Wolfenstein:ET? Are you running a Folding@Home window on your taskbar, as that will cause openGL errors. What's your video card?
