Display corruption

Hi

I have recently upgraded to an ABIT KT7a board with ATI Rage/Xprt2000 video card and Iiyama S900MT1 monitor. My problem is that the display onscreen keeps corrupting - a pattern of regular dots appears and makes screen unreadable. Is this a sync problem? I have downloaded the latest drivers from ATI

Help

Does this happen at all resolutions or just certain resloutions/refresh rates?

You might be using a refresh/resolution combination that the monitor and/or vid card just don't like for some reason.

Boom

Have checked the technical data for the monitor and ATI card. Card is capable of 32 bit 3D graphics up to 1920 x 1200 (based on data at ATI site) and 2D graphics at 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz. The monitor gives max resolution as 1600 x 1200 @ 75 Hz and operation at 1280 x 1024 @85 Hz. This morning I have set the parameters to be 1280 x 1024 and changed the refresh on the card from optimal to 85Hz. I will see if this makes any difference and I can say that the corruption has just occurred and again it is like a regular grid of spots more intense in some areas of the screen than on others and these more intense areas move about as I type (which is probably irrelevant). Wonder should I try a different graphics card?

Try 1024x768 @ 75 Hz for troubleshooting purposes - and try *different* ATI drivers - the newest aren't always the best. Have you installed the Via 4 in 1 motherboard drivers?
