Hi Zellius,

If you like team games then you should really give Couter-Strike a go. It's a great mod for Half-Life. It's basically terrorists vs. counter-terrorists, but if played right involves tacticts and team work.

I have Tribes 2 but havn't played it much, mainly because it took me a while to learn all the commands and how to play, and it was too complex in my opinion, but some people love it.

This isn't a FPS, but Max Payne is an awesome game. It's a 3rd person perspective view but the gameplay is great and I love the special slow-motion diving moves. The only downside is that it has no multiplayer.

Hope that helps.

Thumbs up

Serious Sam-- this is a very good game- sort of Doom Like. Has a cooperative mode you play on Lan or the internet that is also fun-- and it costs less than $20. Check out some reviews of it on the usual internet sites. Highly recommended.

Yep, Max Payne is a great game- the first time through. I haven't found it to have much replay value though. Anyone else notice this? On the other hand, I've played UT countless times and SS all the way through about 15 times (counting coop games). Given that, I look at Max Payne as a fairly expensive game- hours played/cost.

Half-Life: Excellent game engine.(MP)
Opposing Force: Half-Life expansion.
Blue Shift: Half-Life expansion. I like Half-Life.
Team Fortress 1.5: Mod for Half-Life. Nice caste based killer.(MP)
Team Fortress 2: Stand-alone. Beginning to think it will never come out of development.(MP)
Hitman Codename 47: 3rd Person and requires moderate strategy. Good if you ever wanted to be a hitman.
Quake III: Good engine, but I think Quake has gone far enough.(MP)
Rogue Spear: Again, requires strategy and patience. Good military game.(MP)
SiN: I liked this game, it is a basic FPS.
SWAT3: Difficult, requires strategy.(MP?)
Delta Force I: Excellent FPS. Excellent Multiplay. Does not support high resolutions, though(MP)
Delta Force II: Not as good as I, graphics were not impressive. (MP)
Delta Force III LandWarrior: Very good military FPS. Good multiplay.(MP)
Soldier Of Fortune: Ehh, okay.(MP?)
Thief - The Dark Project: Not an FPS persay, but very good. Need buckets of patience though.
Thief II - The Metal Age: An excellent sequel.
Project IGI: I did not personally like this one, but it is up to debate.(MP?)

These are all the newer games I have played. MP means multiplay, MP? means I do not remember if it supports MP. Hope this helps.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes
