Creative Sound Blaster Audigy

I'm licking my chops to get ahold of one of these babies!

I'm still looking for speakers that equal my soundblaster live 5.1 mp3+. It will take about 3 months before I have the spending cash for the speakers, then another month before I tire of their performance. After that, I will start licking my chops for Audigy. Although, I do appreciate it. Truth is that if I played my speakers as loud as I wanted, I would end up looking for a new house and girlfriend within a week. She just doesn't appreciate a submersive first person shooter game experience; that's why I bought some NICE headphones recently.

I have owned a Bose set for most of my known computer life. They are expensive, but quality comes with cash. I know that upgrading speakers does improve sound quality. I have seen and bought many speakers that were below par compared to the soundcard. But, since my speakers have always been above quality in the soundcard, I cannot even begin to think what kind of quality I would gain by upgrading to an Audigy. This is heresy, but I do not think I would benefit much from an upgrade. I say this because I have never seen a noticable change in quality when I went from onboard SRS to a SB Live Value to a SB Live Gold. I am tone deaf, so that might be a reason. Dumb question for this group of people, but would an upgrade to an Audigy be noticable?

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

I have to admit, I myself am a little skeptical as to whether there will be a drastic difference. They claim that the positional 3D audio is supposed to show a noticable difference. I guess when it comes right down to it, I just want one so I can be the kid on the block that can say he has one. In my opinion the SB Live is one heck of a sound card so I think it might be hard to beat it's quality in a noticable way with any new cards.
