If there's a setting in the bios that says AGP Aperture Size, that's the setting you should look at. Rule of thumb is to set it to half the size of your physical memory.

Not exactly - AGP aperture is different than onboard video shared memory. Most onboard video that uses shared memory "borrows" system ram because there is no dedicated video ram, and the amount it borrows is usually adjustable in bios. All AGP aperture does is allow an AGP card to use system ram for temporary storage of textures and stuff.

Actually I said ketchup.....

Sorry if I wasn't clear - on systems with onboard video that uses shared memory (PC Chips boards are noted for this), there is a separate setting in the BIOS for the amount of system memory it will use. AGP Aperture Size is a different setting - and I honestly don't know if shared memory setups even have this setting - if it does, it won't have any effect on what you are trying to do.

You know you have a shared memory setup if you have Windows 9x/ME and you go into System in control panel - and on the main tab the amount of system memory is listed. If you know you have 128 megs of ram and it only says 124mb, you have a video chip set to share 4 megs of system ram.
