graphics probs on geforce2pro 450 card

hi,
i have a problem with my geforce2pro 450 graphics card.when i try to play games like "midtown madness 1 or 2" the graphics on moving images such as the people are all weird as if there is just big blocks of colour instead of people.
i have tried running 3d benchmark 2001 and on the car one the headlight beams are just giving off a white rectangle shape instead of light.i have tried installing all the latest drivers.
could anyone please help?
thanks.

Hi Smoby,

We've just managed to solve a similar problem with Southrk's card in this post

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=17423

Try some of these possible solutions first and see if they help.

If playing around with these settings don't help, then empty your Windows>Temp folder. Extract your Nvidia drivers to that folder.

Go into device manager and change your display adapter from Geoforce
to Standard VGA adapter.

You will be asked to Reboot.

Once back in Windows, boot into safe mode (just restart the PC and hold down the "shift key" while it's booting)and remove the Geoforce from Device Manager.
Remove the Nvidia drivers from "Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs".
Go into "Windows>Inf>Other" folder and delete any Nvidia "inf" files there.
Reboot.
When Windows detects the card and asks for drivers, click on "have disk" and point Windows to C:/Windows/Temp. Select the correct model of card (if asked) and load the drivers.

See how that works.

Give us some more info.

What your system specs?
Which version of Windows?
What DX version?
What Nvidia drivers?

Try reinstalling DX 8.0a a couple of times.

Anyway, you're going to have to stick with DX 8.0a because it will do no good to try and install DX 8.0 over DX 8.0a. You can't reverse the DX upgrade.

If that doesn't work then go to your card manufacturers website and download the latest certified drivers for this card. Completely uninstall the detonators and install the certified drivers.

I am recommending that you do this because Nvidia reference drivers can produce undesired effects on some cards. If we find the problem dissapears when using the certified drivers - then the detonators were to blame. If the problem still persists - then it may be a faulty card.
