Question Tv-out ?!?!?!!?

Hello,
I just recently purchased a Cardex GeForce2 MX400 with TV out. I have never used tv out before and am having troubles getting it to work. With the tv plugged in to the MX the second monitor is avialable for adjustments in the control utility but I get nothing on the tv. The documentation that came with the card tells nothing of the set up. What channel does the tv need to be on, or should I use the AUX button. I have tried searching the web for guides but no luck. Any light that can be shed on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

My system specs:

P3 933
Asus cuv4x (latest 4in1 drivers)
512 pc133
30 Gb Maxtor Hd
10 Gb WD hd
Phillips 8x4x32 CDRW
liteon 12X dvd
Win 98
Gf2mx 400 64 meg (latest det drivers)
3com Gaming modem .....nope no broadband here

I would assume that you have to tune the TV to whatever channel your video in signal is on, for example, my RCA has 2 RCA inputs, channels 91 and 92, and the S-VHS input on 93.

Does your TV has SCART ? If so, then connect the TV-Out to the SCART connection and select "AV" as the TV-channel.
Anyway you can't display to your monitor and tv simultaneously. You have to switch to the tv to display something on it (rightclick on desktop, select properties, switch to settings tab, click on more options, switch to device selection tab, select TV and make sure that the correct TV-format and video output format are set, then click OK. Picture should now switch to tv).

I just assumed it would be the same as the vcr. I noticed the card has an s-video connector but came with an s-video to rca plug. my TV has 5 rca plugs 1 video in 2 audio in and 2 audio out. It also has an s-video connector. I guess i should get me an s-video cable with male plugs on each end. Ill look in my Owners manual for my Magnavox. Thanks for the direction

yo mobo

Asus cuv4x is a Via chipset isnt it? How long have you had it? Does it give you good performance? Any hardware or software conflicts? I am considering Via Apollo Pro or P4x266 chipset and would like some practical info on how it works for you. Please respond. Thanks.

Thumbs up mobo

I`ve had the VIA board for about a year now. I have had no hardware issues at all. I am pretty pleased with this board. Overclocker friendly if your into that
My only problem has been my cpu fan had a blade come off and allowed my proc to over heat...it somehow corrupted my harddrive and poof all data lost..oh well about time to clean house anyway. Make sure you follow the instructions for installing the drivers and you should have no problems. I would recommend no onboard sound...not that the yahama ds-xg is`nt any good. Less CPU cycles with an add in sound card. Not that you did`nt already know that. You plan on running 1 Gig proc?? I have had my oc`d to 1008 mhz with stock cooling but I don`t run it at that..I was testing :0 Hope I helped in your decision..
