Starcraft II
Starcraft II was just announced on the blizzard site this morning. Even though there were rumors floating about Starcraft II, Diablo III, or another new game. It is finally official.
You can also go to starcraft2.com to see more information.

I think this is the first game release I will actually eagerly anticipate, which makes the wait all the harder. If it's half as good as the first one I will happily pay the obscene game prices without a single complaint.

HEY! I just found out about this (and searched like a good little boy before posting it again).
Anyways, http://www.starcraft2.com/ OMG *DROOL* I told my fiance that I was planning on a build for a year from now. It looks like I'll try to hold off as long as possible to have one updated for this game. Anyways, let's just hope that this game actually gets released. They announced Starcraft Ghost, worked on it, dropped it, reannounced it, worked on it, dropped it. Seeing the success of WoW, Blizzard's probably going to try to make this as best as they can in hopes of earning as much $$ as they can. So if it ever gets released, it'll most likely be 3 or more years from now. Watch the cinematic trailer. It's a polished as I would have expected from Blizzard. I still remember the quality of the original cinematics. That was 10 years ago. Oh boy my expectations are high!

I don't honestly think they're going to change the units all that much, just steal the best elements from all of them. I was hoping they would add in a new race (for instance a cross between Zerg and Protoss as was rumoured), that would kick buttocks

I watched the gameplay video. Holy crap! It looks like they made it more realistic in that the units last longer in a fire-frenzy.
There are quite a few new units (or at least tentatively) and it looks like Blizzard is going to have one hell of a time balancing everything out. For example, the new dragoon replacements will have forceshields that only engage when massive firepower is directed at them. Meaning a marine will damage it more than a seige tank will. |

If anyone wants to play a game that would be like Diablo 3, pick up Titan Quest, its a good game, plays like Diablo, 3D, and about $20...well worth the money

Blizzard announced at Blizzcon08 that the would be releasing SCII as a trilogy. Each Race will be released as its own game. This is both a good idea for business, and for players to get more content. Most may not agree, but seeing as how the mulityplayer will still give you access to all three races I don't see much of a loss here.

I only play Starcraft for the multiplayer - so for me this isnt that exciting unless they release a couple new units for each side - per expansion. I'll only buy the first part otherwise.
