Try different Nvidia drivers and reinstall or update your DirectX.

Is this Computer Overclocked - or did you set the refresh rate of Ram to fast ? I can remember seeing this particular error string on overclocked Systems and also on systems where the RAM timings where not the ones actually the timing those chips could work with..

i havent done any think im a computer thicko played halflife then installed nvidia card then got loads of problems

Did you completely uninstall your old card and all its software before installing the Nvidia? Did you follow the instructions to change the display to Standard VGA before trying to install the Nvidia?
