Ok I just recently got the new Flashpoint game. Now when I play it, some times in the middle of the game the sound screwes up and then after a while restores back to normal. By screwes up I mean when a new sound even comes up, like firing a gun all of a sudden all the sounds will get his scratchy-raspy effect to them. Kinda like the noice you get from playing a badly scratched record. It could last for a few minutes or some times longer/shorter amount of time. Then ussualy when a new different even occurs it some times fixes itself. Some times I can play a game for 1/2 hr and will not have any problems with sound at all.
I can play back the MP3s just fine in windows, so I am not sure if it's the sound or the game. It's a 2yr old Sound Blaster 128 sound card in an Abbit KT7 mobo and a 1ghz AND T-bird CPU. What do you think? |

Hi AlexK
Well, if not happening in any other games or applications - then it's a OF problem or bug. Check the game Readme for sound issues and solutions. Check the developers site and see what issues are mentioned and what any patches are supposed to fix. Most new games have graphical or sound bugs of some kind. See if you can find a fix or work-a-round. HTH |

The SB 128 is not capable of playing sounds from simultaneous sources.....I would try the onboard video (if it has it) or maybe upgrade the sound card.

Well I fixed it. Got a new Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 card
The old 128 did not have support for Win2K and I needed a card with driver support in that OS. And it just so happends that the game sound now works great too.
