Question game requires 256 colors

I've have Hasbro's Battleship and it requires me to change my computers colors from 32 bit to 256 colors. Is there a way to force this game to play in 16 bit or 32 bit color? Or am I stuck with having to change my colors to 256 when ever I play this game?

Maybe check in the Hasbro directory for an .ini file that has a line that checks your current color depth. I know of some games that can easily be altered by looking in a few files... sometime it requires you to browse .dlls which gets a bit trickier. See if you can't get a utility for your graphics card that will let you switch between 32bit and 256 colors... I know there are some for nvidia cards.

My Video card will allow me to switch back and forth between the color settings easily. I was just wondering if there was a way to "trick" the game.
