Video Card Problem?
Not sure if this is a video card or software problem. I run Win2k. My configuration is 1.2ghz T-bird, 512 RAM. Vid card is Nvidia TNT2 64Pro. Tow problems keep occurring. Whenever I attempt to start the Microsoft Shorcut Bar or use any of the three (Ati Wonder, Hauppague, or, currently, I/O Magic) TV cards, I get a blue screen, 'physical dump of memory' message, and a reboot. Have attempted everything using all resolutions from 640x480 to 1024x768 all with the same results. If, however, I boot in safe mode, everything works. I have updated the Nvidia drivers (from their website) with no change. M$'s website offers no insights into the problem.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Dave |

Found the Fix
On a whim, I decided to reinstall the downloaded drivers from NVidia, again. Now EVERTHING works fine. Anwyone else having difficulties with this video card should download the drivers. BTW, I've read very mixed reviews on this card (NVidia TNT 2 64). What do y'all think?

Hi lpc300,
Glad you fixed your problem. Regarding the TNT M64, it's really the bottom of the line in currently sold nVidia cards. It's gotten bad reviews because it is a crippled version of the TNT2, an already outdated card. It's only bad comparatively though, just like the GF2MX200 is bad comparatively to the regular GF2MX. I had a TNT2 M64 32MB in my old system (Duron 750MHz, 256MB RAM) and I played Counter-Strike at 1024x768 all the time with no problems or lag, so I didn't think it was that bad of a card. Hope that helps.
