Any GeForce 3 will probably fit the bill. Most GeForce 3 card makers follow NVidia's reference design, so more than likely you'll get good results out of any of them. I usually recommend an Elsa, but Hercules, PNY, Leadtek, and Gainward all make quality video cards.

The Vertigo you mentioned is actually called Verto, if I'm correct. It's PNY's line of GeForce 3 cards. You can feel good about purchasing one of these.

Good luck.

Hi CroniC,

I agree with Tiretool, I've heard good things about the Gainward and Leadtek cards, and bad things about the Inno3D. The only thing that really changes from card to card is the 2D output filter and speed of the RAM. Hope that helps.

The new Geforce3 Titanium cards will be out soon. You might want to wait until this line is out-- there will be 2 versions TI 500 and TI 200, the 200 will retail for $199. Gamespot.com and Firingsquad.com have info on the new cards. Also see,

for a good review of the new cards versus the older cards.
