Question mpeg to vcd

I am trying to convert a mpeg to a vcd. I'm using Ulead Video Studio V.5.0 but it is only a demo that will let me convert up to 30 seconds. The full version is to expensive. Does anyone know where I could get it cheap? Or is there another good program that is cheep or that I would be able to download?

Nero should be able to convert it - you may need the mpeg2 plugin - search your Nero help file for mpeg for details.

mpeg encoders are what cost money, for example: the mpeg 1 converter is usually cheap and comes with many programs but mpeg 2 is expensive and comes with only a few software packages for around $99.00 usd

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
www.tmpgenc.com

The TMPGEnc (Tsunami MPEG Encoder) is able to code MPEG-1 AND MPEG-2 and it is FREE and it codes GREAT.

For pure conversion of a MPEG-1 stream into a compatible VCD-MPEG-1 there is no problem using Nero or WinOnCD, both programs can do that well.

I did a little more looking - the Nero mpeg2 plugin is $16.00 in downloadable form and it will make a SVCD. If you have a mpeg1 Nero can make a VCD directly from that.
