75 FPS in counter strike source??

Ok for some reason i can't get ABOVE 75 FPs in counter strike source. It constantly stays on 75 fps. I should be getting way over 100.

Specs are
Q6600 @ 3ghz
GA-P35-DS3P
2X1 gig Kingston HyperX @ 833 mhz
Corsair HX 620
8800GTX
Antec 900
ViewSonic VX922 LCD(Is this the problem??)

Is my LCD the problem?? I have heard that it will limit my FPS??
Any Idea's?

What resolution do you play at?

If you want to see higher FPS, turn off "V Sync" in the game settings. Your monitor only refreshes 75 times per second, and VSync tells the game to only output what the monitor can display. 75Hz is pretty good; CRTs were 60.

VSync can be desirable b/c w/o it you start getting frames updated mid-way down the screen and you'll see horizontal tearing of the image.

wait, how do you check your fps in CS source? do you use the statfps command(i THINK thats what its called. i might be wrong)
because i remember in CS 1.6, for some insane reason, the max fps was set at 60 when you could actually set it as high as 100. there was a command for that as well. but i've hardly fiddled around with CS Source so i cant be certain of the commands.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. If you're getting an avg. of 75 fps then you're doing well. That means your card is keeping your fps above the refresh rate, especially during dips (when you see the most action, most eye candy on screen at once, etc.) so you're basically getting the smoothest gameplay possible.

Remember, the human eye cannot tell a difference from 60+ fps. As long as the card keeps up with the refresh rate on the monitor, anything above the cap is simply bragging rights .
