Question How do I enable AGP texturing on GE Force3?

Hello!

Just completed installation of new MOBO, HDD, CPU and now installed Windows 2K again. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers for my GEF3 & then DirectX 8.0a, but while checking I notice that AGP Texturing is disabled and greyed out. I have installed VIA 4-in-1 drivers, but this is still not working. I have set my BIOS to 4X AGP, Fast Write enabled and AGP aperture at 128MB. My BIOS is the latest one for my MOBO.
The MOBO I have supports AGP Pro and has a power connector next to the slot. Should I connect a free power plug to this socket? I haven't so far as my card does not specify AGP Pro or anything and I don't want to fry the card.
How should I solve this? Have I installed something in the wrong order, have I missed something out completely or is my configuration wrong in some way?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi Funkeeboy,

Try re-installing DX.

If that doesn't work, re-partition and format and load in this order;

W2K, 4in1, DX, Nvidia Drivers.

Cool Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike,

In the end I did a couple of things which solve this problem. NOt sure which was the decisive factor, but here's what I did:

Installed the new VIA 4-in-1 drivers
Disabled the option in BIOS for AGP Compensate. Don't know what this does and the manual that came with the GA7-DXR is rubbish.
Changed my HDD over to ATA-100 IDE connectors...running super fast now.

Can't be sure what it was, but I tend to think that maybe the BIOS settings.

3D Mark score is now about 6700. But the real test will be with Max Payne...

I keep in mind the proper order for installing these drivers for the next time I have to format over again.

Thanks - Rob
