MS CFS3 won't start

Hey folks,

I googled this problem and found that some people had the same problem, but no real solutions seemed to arise.

I tried to start CFS3 earlier today , and it would get as far as the splash screen before crashing to Windows. Every subsequent time, I would get an error message saying "This program failed to shut down properly the last time it was run. Would you like to open the troubleshooting document?" That isn't the exact quote, but it's close.

The troubleshooting document is a waste of space and didn't give me anything to work with. I know it isn't a hardware issue, because it has run on this same PC before. The only change made was adding RAM, but that shouldn't have affected anything. I've already tried a reinstall with my AV suite turned off, tried starting the game under the same conditions. Updated with the patch...I can't think of anything else.

Specs:

AMD Athlon X2 4200+
2 gigs Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800
eVGA GeForce 7600GS
Asus M2N4-SLI
LG Super-multi drive

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nothing of the sort. Haven't done any major software changes.
