Crysis and Hellgate:London
First I will start off with an oppinion of hellgate. It is what you would expect from the diablo II guys. Thats about all I can really tell from the demo. I am mainly interested in teh game for its campain play. I like RPG stories. I am not big on the lets rush through teh game and get stuff.
Its noting impressive. It is basically guild wars with jumping. Crysis is absolutely beautiful. The graphics are amazing. I am still trying to get a handle on the game play. The single player demo just came out today so more on it tomorrow.

Of course he's saying a Quad Core will work best, it's like saying an 8800 Ultra will work best with the game. But of course not many people have enough money to start throwing around Quad Core systems. Especially as not many of the games today make full use of the Multi-Core experience. Personally I would still go for a higher clocked Dual Core than a mediocre Quad Core.

Yeah, it would be useful to hear how good Crysis is as a game. I think we've heard more than enough about how beautiful the graphics are already.

Well personally I really enjoyed it, especially with the invisibility/extra strength stuff. And I just feels so cool to take out an enemy. The only thing I would say is on this level your only fighting N.Korean soldiers, and not aliens of any kind, and I don't really like Sci-Fi kind of things, so at the moment its awesome, but It could get a little worse for me once you start fighting other life forms.

downloaded the demo onto a demonstration rig for my business that is running 8600GT's in SLi. With XP 32bit, I was able to get playable framerates on medium setting at 1650 X 1050. The game looks great although your going to need a serious system to play at max settings. I'll wait for the 8900 series cards to build my next system. They should be out by Christmas.

my only problem with the game is..... you need a serious system for this game.... that means serious cash.... i hope this doesnt hurt it... most people cannot afford a system that is fast enough to run it.... it willl be atleast a year before a regular system can run it as smoothly as it deserves..... kind of sad.... i have to say it looks a hell of alot better than halo but it will never have the following due to the high requirments

I really have to say that even on medium the game looks great. The gameplay is really smooth too. I tried it on my wife's system which is running a 7950GT and on medium settings it played fine. There is a wide distribution of high to low range systems out there. I'd say most gamers will be able to play at medium settings without upgrading at all. But those who want ultra high...........

ANyone else think that Crysis' gameplay is just meh. Beside the incredible graphic and details, Crysis just feels liek not very fun to play once the ooh and awe of the graphic faded.
I feel like I'm playing Freedom FIghter, but w/ really good graphic and expensive machine. |

I wouldn't be able to agree or disagree based on the demo. I think the demo is a really stripped down version and the full version will be even better. You can definitely see the influence of far cry. Also the amount of freedom you have is pretty amazing. I played through the demo about 5 different ways.

Well, crytek better improve on the 9 shots in the face to kill a Korean to something less or brace for criticism. 6-9 shots in the face to kill a Korean is ridiculous and I am using an equivalent gun to AK-47 for god's sake.

I'm thinking about it.
That thing with the ads is what's stopping me now that I've got a rig that can run it.

I got Crysis last night. Stayed up to the wee hours. My eyes hurt. I think I gave myself carpal-tunnel syndrome. It was worth it.
I love this game. I am a big fan of Far Cry, and this is a most worthy successor. I'm very impressed with the gameplay, and the graphics look great at mostly medium settings on my system. Good stuff. |
