mid-game crashing

hi

not to sure if this is the place for this but here goes.

i made my pc about 3 weeks ago, and it runs great.

Specs:
Intel core 2 duo e6750 2.66ghz
Western digital 80gb sata 2 hardrive
3gb ddr2 dual channel ram
Asus p5n-e sli nforce 650 pci express ddr2 motherboard
Samungs dvd+rw serial ata rewriter
OcUk power supply 550w
Pny 7200gs 128mb pcie graphics card

plus a case and samsung monitor.

i have downloaded and played the cod4 demo, ran smooth and looked great. i then bought the orange box, and first played portal. at times the graphics card strugled, but i played it and completed it. then i decided to play half life 2: episode 1. heres where the problems start.

now i have it running really smoothly, no slow down at all, it will be runing great. then, about 20 minutes into it, the image and sound freeze. the only way to get out of it is to press the reset button. i dont have a clue what is the problem, because it runs everything else great.

anybody have any ideas?

Checked your temps lately? Drivers?

yep temps around 28'c and drivers upto date off nvidea site
