how to set up a logitech usb game controller with gta SA for PC

I got grand theft auto san andreas for my PC and I got a logitech usb controller, but the controller only works for directions, I cant use any of the buttons. They definitly work, because when i was setting up the controller the computer recognized them, but I cant get them to work for the game. I dont want to have to play this kind of game with the keyboard, that ruins it a bit. is it possible to only use the controller, the same as if I was playing ps2 or xbox?

Have you configured the Controls in Options to use the controller? You might need to configure the buttons manually.
