San andreas lags on my rig
Hey guys,
Well i just got GTA:San andreas for pc today because it was cheap and i never got to finish it on Ps2 because my memory card died with the game saves on and i just couldnt be bothred going all through the game again. so i got the pc version,But it LAGS on my rig and i dont understand why because im sure my rig should be able to play it. Quote:

Your specs are certainly enough to handle that game. Have you checked if any background processes are running like a virus scanner or Folding@Home? Also, how full is your hard drive and has it been defragged recently?
Also, are there any patches available for that game?

you have better specs than me and i can run it fine though i play it on lower res and low graphics as i have a radeon 9200 which is not good!

Make sure you have nothing running in the background, defrag your hard drive etc. You should be able to run the game on high settings...I beat the game when it came out on PC a while ago on my old PC, 256 megs of ram, Geforce 440MX PCI card, and a 1.3ghz celeron processor and it ran on medium settings if I remember correctly...Lol

i have large specs but my machine laggs like hell and i just got it formatted and reinstalled xp on it their is nothing running in the background my specs are
pentuim 4 2.93 GHz 760 RAM 128 video |

i can see why it is lagging marek76...you do not have lage specs...
a core2duo @ 2.6 Ghz 2GB ram 768 video is large specs |

I can play SA well in my old Athlon XP 2400+ rig, provided if I ever have a better video card there for high details.
Even a Celeron D 2.8GHz with a Radeon 9600 or a Geforce 6600 will do too.
