Oblivion - Runnable on my rig?

I have Oblivion for PS3 and it looks good but some of the screenshots I've seen from the PC version are just outstanding! I would like to get the game for my PC but I don't wanna rush out and buy it and then not be able to crank up the settings and see the amazing graphics at 1 fps. I went to System Requirements Lab.com and had it check my system. It's saying I pass the recommended specs but I don't know if that's at high resolution or not. Here are my system specs according to the ones checked on the website.

AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor - 2.61Ghz Performance rated at 3.92 Ghz

2 GBs Corsair Ballistix memory (think its PC3200)

Windows XP

GeForce 6800 Ultra x 2 in SLI (not sure if oblivion supports SLI or not)
All the video card options are met as well. There's a lot of them so I won't post em all here.

74GB Raptor 10,000RPMs

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo

If you need any more info about my specs just let me know. I would love to run this game at its highest graphics settings if possible.

It'll run fine, just use a medium resoution and medium graphics settings. My system had an AMD 3200 single core and a single 6800GS. It worked beautifully.

Thanks a lot! Do you think anything I have is worth keeping or should I just upgrade my whole system if I want to get the best settings out of Oblivion and be able to play newer games like Bioshock

If you're going to build a new one, you might be able to keep the hd.

The only thing worth upgrading is your videocard setup and OS. The latest games use DX10, and to get the best visuals you need a high-end 8000 series nvidia card (or equivalent ATI), and windows Vista. Your CPU is powerful enough to handle any game well. If you are going to keep windows XP (and DX9) for a while, save some money and buy the nicest 7000 series card you can afford.

I'd hold off on getting a new video card right away. AMD/ATI juts released the 1st DX10.1 cards, and nVidia's are soon to follow.

So my FX 55 is okay to hang onto, so I'm assuming my MOBO is okay too? I've been out of the PC builder loop for quite a while and I'm just overwhelmed with all this new tech. Would it be worth buying 2 new vid cards (probably gonna wait n get nVidia's) or will one do the trick? I've heard SLI is a bit overrated but that's what I'm running now.

Also is my PC3200 ram okay?

Generally SLi isn't worth it, 1 high end card is enough. You PC3200 is DDR, which is going to be expensive should you choose to upgrade it, but you should be ok since you have 2gb.
