Mass Effect
I enjoyed KOTOR II immensely and played it all the way through. I've played WoW and Eve Online. I love the space theme.
Is Mass Effort worth buying?

I really like the look of it. Haven't played it, and saw one video review. The review itself seemed a little harsh, and the guy's points weren't exactly valid...does that help, lol?

Well I've read the review on IGN, but I'm just looking for people who have played it. Two co-workers of mine have it and recommended it, so I thought I'd check here as well.

A demo would be pointless in this game. It is massive and is all about the story.
I have over 20 hours gameplay in it so far and have not even gotten a quarter of the way into the main missions. I am just plugging through all the side quests at the moment. This is definately a must buy game if you liked KOTOR at all. Although I like Star Wars very much I am glad this is not another SW game. The game starts out kind of borring but once you start getting into it it is awesome, and very hard to put down. I do have some complaints about it but who cares I have complaints about any game, just more about RP games in general. Just get it. |

I have Oblivion and easily put 20 hours into the side quests - I had only gotten through maybe a fifth of the main storyline before my original 360 crashed. Since they wouldn't let me keep my old hard drive when I got my replacement, I became disgusted and haven't picked the game up since.
If it's as addictive as Oblivion then I'm definitely going to get it. Thanks for all the comments, please keep them coming! |

I've played it and beat it. It's a pretty good game. The story is great and near the end, it's really hard to take a break. It's kind of short but there's so many ways you can play the game, so I think it's worth it.

Its a great game, definatley worth picking up if you like games such as KOTOR and Oblivion. The expansion out for it is worth it too.

Do you have to download the expansion (and pay for it) on xbox live, or is it only out for a pc version (not sure if a pc version exists or not).

The PC version is not out yet, can't remember when it is due either.
The 360 version has DLC available, but you have to pay for it. |

I played through it, and it was one of the best story-lines I've ever witnessed in a game. Would definitely play through it again if finals and my senior design project weren't coming up on me so quickly. My total play time was 24ish hours... I moved quickly through the game but read every piece of the story.
I would recommend borrowing or renting for a month, give or take a few weeks, if you have that opportunity. Great game and all, but once you find out the ending, the subsequent playthroughs will be much less gratifying. |

Yeah, I'm just going to take my friend's. I keep forgetting all about the game, or I would have asked to borrow it by now.
That reminds me I need to get some of my games back from a friend, and return the Orange Box to her. I've had the Orange Box for a solid month and haven't taken it off my shelf... |

Yea the DLC is 400 points, $5 i think. It's worth it, the extra mission is fun. The story is really great, the gameplay gets a bit repetitious towards the end though i thought. I will probly play through it again on hard for the achievements
